
Meredith Ballard
Founder of Ballard Law, pllc
Attorney Meredith Ballard founded Ballard Law, PLLC to focus on the legal needs of employees and employers in the Triangle after several years of practice in personal injury, products liability, and employment discrimination. She is a member of the North Carolina Advocates for Justice and was nominated as a NC Super Lawyer’s Rising Star.
She received her J.D. from Campbell University School of Law, where she was a member of the moot court team and the recipient of the Old Kivett Barrister’s Award for Excellence in Oral Advocacy. Attorney Ballard was a member of the Public Interest Law Association and participated in the Pro Bono Service Dog Project. She previously worked at Disability Rights North Carolina, the North Carolina Medical Board, and the Attorney General’s Medicaid Fraud Investigations Division.
Attorney Ballard completed her undergraduate degree with honors at Appalachian State University in Psychology. While at Appalachian State, Attorney Ballard worked in a psychological research laboratory that studied the impact of aging on memory and cognition. She graduated from the Mira Foundation in Quebec, Canada and the prestigious Seeing Eye guide dog school, where she received Colette, her current guide dog.
Volunteer and Pro bono service
Once she received her law license, Attorney Ballard continued to work on pro bono projects with Legal Aid of North Carolina. She is also a member of the board of directors for the Mira Foundation USA, a non-profit that pairs guide dogs with blind children.
Personal Life
Attorney Ballard lives in Raleigh, North Carolina with her family and her guide dog Colette. She enjoys hiking, yoga, and learning languages. She is conversational in American Sign Language and is currently learning Russian.
